Does anyone else have an odd dark notch in the headlight low beam?

Is it normal for my low beams to have a V shaped shadow? It’s been annoying me since I got my 2019 GT2 last March. It moves with the steering and covers the center stripe of the road so much it interferes with my ability to follow curves at night.

I tried to get a picture of it but it seems the notch varies with speed and maybe other factors. Its usually much bigger and the top edge of my beam seems much lower when I’m noticing it.

That notch is the separation between your headlights and your driver side headlight will be a little lower then your passenger side. The reason they do that is, why you have the car on low beams you don't blind on coming cars but you can still see far ahead.

That drives me crazy! It's so distracting to me. It wouldn't be so bad if if stayed centered but it moves as you turn and I can't not notice it.

I haven't noticed it, I don't pay attention to my lights, I'm looking out for all the idiots on the road.

Doesn't bother me either and more importantly it prevents blinding incoming traffic.

The notch is there from the factory to prevent light bleed and potentially blinding other drivers. Them LED lights be too bright

I was thinking it might be to block light for oncoming cars, but the height of my overall beam pattern is so low it’s just covering the center stripe of the road and I can’t see down the road much at all. The fact it moves around when I’m steering is really distracting too.

The reason why I ask is some guys that lower their cars don't reset the headlight height. Check you lights to make sure they're set at the right height from the factory, you never know!

The headlights on my 2018 Stinger "Premium" are truly annoying - the odd notch being the one thing, however the absence of side-to-side adjustment and the "spotlight" they project into the trees with the highbeams is crazy. The right (passenger side) beam projects to the left, into oncoming traffic. Several visits to the dealer later, I was told this was normal !! The spotlight projected up at about a 15-20 angle into the trees is just useless.

hello stinger owners, im in the market for a 2020 Sedona SX w LED DBL. Yes, I have googled sedona forums and no comment about it, but sedona forums are very quiet compared to this forum.
Ive noticed this dark spot/notch on 2018 and 2019 SX models w the LED DBL. Very annoying. Ive owned multiple cars and never had this issue. My 911 has dynamic headlights as well but no notches in the field of view. I'm worried the 2020 will have the notches. Most dealers have no idea what im talking about until we go on an evening test drive and then they notice it.
One dealer seemed to know, he called it "jagged illumination" and said 2020s do NOT have it. But the closest 2020 Sedona is 60 miles from me. Would hate to drive up there to make a deal and find out the headlights still have this issue.
Let me know if anyone has found a resolution to this.

Thanks!

I don’t think there is a resolution to it. Just a byproduct of the headlight design

Oh there is a resolution alright, take it to a customs shop, have them open up the headlight and remove the factory shroud, I did it with my 2015 Ford Fusion. I did not say was a cheap solution lol:)
