Due to its impressive handling, thrilling ride, and powerful performance, the new Kia Stinger has been named a contender, one of seven, for the 2018 European Car of the Year award.

"The Stinger is unlike any other Kia that has come before, and is truly European in its execution, both in design and driving character. It is gratifying to see the combined efforts of our designers and engineers being recognised by Europe's most influential automotive media. With Kia's innate quality and reliability built-in, we believe the Stinger will be popular with European drivers, too," said Artur Martins, Vice President Marketing & Product Planning at Kia Motors Europe.

The Kia Stinger is available at three trim levels - Stinger, Premium, GT, GT1, and GT2 - and boasts two engine options. The 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 engine and the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Each engine is expertly mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The 3.3-liter V6 engine and the eight-speed automatic transmission generate 365 horsepower and 376 lb ft of torque, and as a result of this powertrain, propels the Kia Stinger to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds. The Kia Stinger is available with rear-wheel or all-wheel drive, and features the automaker's Seven-Year/150,000 km warranty.

The Kia Stinger features Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, Bluetooth Wireless Technology with voice recognition, rear-camera display with dynamic guidelines, Parking Distance Warning (PDW), and the available UVO with eight-inch touch-screen display and voice-command navigation system.

Along with a long list of standard safety features, the Kia Stinger presents available driver assist technologies such as Blind Spot Collision Warning (BCW) with Lane Change Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Collision Warning (RCCW), Forward Collision Avoidance (FCA) with Pedestrian Detection, Forward Collision Warning System (FCWS), Advanced Smart Cruise Control (ASCC) with Stop and Go, Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS), and Driver Attention Warning (DAW).
