Hopefully this won't be an issue with us here.

While the guys were setting the car up, they discovered a small hose at the front of the engine had come loose. According to the tuners, "it's the boost line from the intercooler pipe before the throttle body to the solenoid. It was quite short and looks like it would come off very easily. We replaced it with a slightly longer hose, which fixed the issue."

This would explain why the car felt underpowered compared to the last one we drove. As a precaution, we ran the dyno test four times in total - three times with the hose connected and once with it disconnected. With the hose disconnected, it was almost 90kW down on our final number.

It wouldn't be a bad idea for all new Kia Stinger buyers to ask the dealers to check all the boost lines, turbo and cooling hose clamps before they take delivery. With Ford, I've seen some cars that came from the factory with loose inter-cooler hoses. You can tell right away whenever you have a loose hose as the car won't be able to make boost properly.

Interesting that a small hose like that can fall off that easily.

This is a good tidbit of info. Hopefully the issue is resolved we all take delivery in the US. And if not then we have a good little heads up on this.

This happened to me twice on my ecoboost mustang. It's drivable but obviously slower, louder, rougher, etc. Hopefully I won't have to go through this again with the Stinger.

lol , evidently my phone thought that I should use the word "house" instead of "hose" and took the liberty to auto-correct it for me. Yay technology.[?|]

I'm willing to bet it's probably these hoses that we'll need to check.

Specifically the one right in the middle.

I hope the 2.0t isn't problematic either.

Yes, right after I first got it (and mine is one of the first ones so they knew nothing about it at the time) and again after a recall service.

That makes three models from Ford that I know of with similar boost leak problems.
Focus ST, Fiesta ST, Mustang
