Kia Stinger Purchase/Lease Cheat Sheet - MFs & APRs

Probably not worth the effort. It is a sold vehicle. I'll see if I can PM you, but don't go to any trouble. Kia rep said early March, but you know how that goes.... Thanks. I don't even want to THINK about April. [?|]

Kia Stinger Purchase/Lease Cheat Sheet - MFs & APRs

I'll have to get it from the dealer - just told me he had it. They also said they couldn't do the paperwork until the car was delivered, but maybe I misunderstood and he meant the VIN and not the car itself. I would "think" they'd want to get it on this month's sales.

Kia Stinger Purchase/Lease Cheat Sheet - MFs & APRs

OK. Didn't know how much advance notice you guys get on this stuff. Mine isn't due until first week of March. I have the VIN a week ago, but don't think they will get it in for the end of Feb totals. Long drive from S. Korea.... Thanks for your help, MurlinatoR. Hope you're selling a bunch...

Kia Stinger Purchase/Lease Cheat Sheet - MFs & APRs

Any word on whether these lease rebates and interest rates will continue into March? Or will the end in February? And if so, what's next, MurlinatoR?

    Big Turbo Thread

I haven't really had time to drive the 3.3T because my car doesn't get here for 2 more weeks, but from a short test drive and from performance data from respected reviewers, it obvious that this engine has a lot of torque at lower RPMs and the computer seems to do a very good job of keeping the...

    Spreek Carbon Fiber Trunk Spoiler

I do not plan to add any additional spoilers to mine. From hearing the engineers talk about it, the little lip spoiler on the rear was designed to provide a balanced amount of down force at higher speeds and is totally functional. I don't run mine much over 100mph but changing the rear spoiler...

    Big Turbo Thread

The Stinger uses Rockwell twin spool turbos in the GT's. There are two inlets to the turbo, one from each of two of the 3 cylinders on each bank. (The 3rd cylinder is vented directly into the exhaust.) Twin spool turbine inlet wheels are "stepped" or graduated in diameter and each cylinder is...

Winter Tires, Gas, & Alternative Logos

I've never had Michelin summers. All tires lose grip with decreasing temperature. I'm not going to disagree with Michelin support (assuming the support person knew their tires) but if this is true, it is either true only for Michelin, or this is an industry trade secret that should be shared...

    GT1 vs. GT2

Not sure what you mean by "mechanical differential" mdwallace. Stingers are basically RWD cars and so all of them will have a "mechanical differential." The GT2 only gets the Limited Slip Differential (LSD) while other RWD's all get a regular differential. The AWD in all trim models has a...

Who's experienced issues with the Lap 3 Uncle Chip?

I think the consensus was that the 91 octane setting on the Lap3 was where you wanted it with 93 octane fuel. Doesn't make sense but I think that's what people are doing. Time will tell about durability.

Who turns off the Auto Start/Stop feature when they first get in their Stinger?

Yes, nothing in the manual about cool-down. It's just common sense from an old turbo jockey like me and a measure of precaution. The turbos are covered under the 10/100,000 powertrain warranty in the U.S. so either they have the issue solved or they plan on replacing some turbos down the road...

Winter Tires, Gas, & Alternative Logos

I have an AWD on order with the 19" performance tires. While I don't get much winter snow here (mostly freezing rain and ice), I did want the better grip on dry pavement of the performance tires. I bought a new Pontiac G8 GT in '08 with the big wheels and summer performance tires and I've...

Who turns off the Auto Start/Stop feature when they first get in their Stinger?

I think BonzaiMark has a point here that should be considered -- at least for me. I have spent some time on a turbocharged Ford diesel tractor which required a short cool-down period after pulling a load in order to allow time for the exhaust and turbo to cool down so the lubricant wouldn't...

Kia Stinger Concept vs Production, which design do you prefer?

The extended reflectors do make a unique profile. I still prefer them partially blended into the body by HiChroma red paint, but I like the lighter gray and white (and yellow) for the darker grille and other trim and functional features. Take your pick. There are no bad Stingers!

If the Stinger had an in-dash CD player would you use it?

[:)] It's a permanent storage device for music that you pay for. [thankyou]

Kia Stinger Concept vs Production, which design do you prefer?

I don't know if I like the wrap-around taillight reflectors or not. My GT1 is HiChroma red because it helps minimize the effect. It just doesn't look "right" to my eyes on a white or yellow car.

Would you purchase a Kia Stinger Coupe?

My GTO is a coupe and while there is actually very good back seat room, it takes an acrobat to get back there. But if you don't use the rear seat often (I've had maybe two people back there in 13 years since it was new), the coupe is a sleeker car. But I'm not a style fanatic. I'm a gearhead.
