Differences between AWD Eco, Comfort, and Sport modes

I would think that the front/rear setting doesn't matter in the snow until there is slippage, in which case the computer will "torque vector" power to and away from where needed or not needed.

FM Radio Reception - Comes and Goes?

I would suspect it is a combination of two things. One is that these little "horn" multi-purpose antennas they use on the back of the roof are not optimized for all frequencies since they must deal with Sirius, FM, AM, and satellite data all in one unit. Second, FM is subject to multipath...

    Lost my order !!

I don't fault my dealer for this, I think it was at the district rep level or higher. As soon as I get my hands on my Stinger, I will begin sending letters and e-mails out to see if I can determine fault. I'm not after revenge -- don't care as long as I get my car -- but I think Kia needs the...

    Excess road noise?

The only review reading I've seen is 69db. Can't remember where I saw that. I've been surfing all the Stinger videos while waiting for my car.

    2018 Buick Regal GS

Thanks. Both my Pontiacs were GM Holden in Australia. (Came with genuine kangaroo seat covers and wallaby hair in the grille from track testing.) [biggrin]

    2018 Buick Regal GS

Where are they building the Regal GS? If the Stinger hadn't shown up, that would have been a strong possibility. But I just got stung.....

    Hello From Guam

Guam. GUAM!!?? Been there twice in the last year visiting my daughter and son-in-law. Surely there are Kia dealers there. They are just getting ready to transfer back to San Diego in a couple months (he's a doc at the Navy hospital). I'll tell them to keep an eye out for your Stinger. Much...

    Not a Sunset Yellow owner...YET

3.3Turbo4me answered this exactly as I would have. I might throw in that performance is essentially identical for the RWD and AWD models according to all reviews I've seen. LSD is only available on the GT and GT2 RWD models, not the GT1 (go figure that one out) and is not available or needed...

Fake hood vents need to go

Common sense suggests that a smooth hood would be the best aerodynamically. Open vents might increase airflow through the engine compartment but would also add drag to the front end and increase turbulence from escaping air. The problems inherent with water are another factor to consider and...

jalopnik: No, Kia Is Not Requiring Dealerships To Mark Up The Stinger

Only if buyers are stupid enough to pay for "nitrogen-filled tires" and mudflaps. Most people interested in a Stinger are car-wise or they would never jump brands, I sure as heck know I wouldn't. These bogus tricks are the brain-child of sales managers with no brains and nothing but profit on...

Who plans on modding their Kia Stinger?

I don't care for white cars, but that one is sweeeet! [twothumb]

    Kia Stinger Drivetrain Break-in 101

As I posted above, I agree with most of this break-in. I do have a bit of difference of opinion on the use of WOT in the first 500 miles. Early oil changes are obvious for those of us who don't ditch our cars after the warranty runs out or lease them. I was a service manager for a...

No Stinger based crossover or pickup in the future.

Kia must first establish itself as more than just a good value maker of econoboxes. Hopefully the Stinger can do that, IF they can attract enough buyers who aren't embedded into their brand identity. I'll do all I can to help them if my Stinger proves to be as good as everyone thinks it is.

jalopnik: No, Kia Is Not Requiring Dealerships To Mark Up The Stinger

"Limited" on the back or side of any vehicle means limited to all we can sell.[thumb]

Who would purchase a plug-in hybrid Kia Stinger?

I think a lot depends on what part of the country you live in. If I needed to spend a lot of time in a big city rolling parking lot, I'd consider it. Out here in the open spaces of the MidWest, no way unless the performance and handling was equivalent to the fuelers.

Fake hood vents need to go

The reflectors are extended like the end letters of the Stinger logo. I bought a red one so they don't stand out.

Fake hood vents need to go

Fake hood vents need to go

I kind-of have to agree with Cocoa Bob here. A couple of other reviewers didn't like the hood trim, either, and I understand that. I looked past them because they don't matter, and I'm no PhD in automotive design although I agree that to my mind, form follows function. They are more prominent...

Who's experienced fouled spark plugs on their Kia Stinger?

Thanks, StingerMike. Still doesn't explain why a mis-fire causes a cracked plug. Heat is dissipated by mechanical contact of threads against the cylinder head. Usually you will see a crack or path along a carbon track but that usually fries the coil, not the plug. I wonder if there is an...

Who's experienced fouled spark plugs on their Kia Stinger?

Could also be a run of defective plugs, although if it's the same cylinder the coil might be a better bet. Strange .... I don't have my car yet to look it over, but how many coils? Usually one coil for each cylinder pair but I haven't seen the 3.3T yet.
