- What I Drive
- Nothing now. KIA Screwed me over
Hi everyone,
I'm posting here to raise awareness and seek support after a terrifying experience with a defective vehicle I purchased from Raceway Kia in Conshohocken. In October 2024, I bought a brand new 2025 Kia K5 GT. What was supposed to be a safe, reliable car turned into a nightmare that nearly cost me my life.
While driving, without any warning—no dashboard lights, no alerts—the car suddenly malfunctioned, exploded, and caught fire. I was violently thrown from the vehicle, resulting in broken bones and serious injuries. I could have died. I was nearly trapped in a burning car that gave me no indication anything was wrong until it was too late.
The physical injuries are painful, but the psychological trauma—knowing how close I came to not making it—is something I now live with every day.
I’ve reached out multiple times to both Raceway Kia and Kia corporate. Despite explaining the severity of what happened and asking for a replacement vehicle and compensation, I've been dismissed and ignored. They have shown no urgency, no empathy, and no accountability for a vehicle that clearly failed in catastrophic ways.
This experience has completely upended my life, and the fact that Kia refuses to take responsibility is beyond infuriating. I’m speaking out because this could happen to anyone. If you own or are thinking about buying a Kia—especially the K5 GT—please be careful. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone.
I’m looking for any advice, support, or similar experiences that might help me hold Kia accountable. If anyone has had a similar issue or knows how to get traction on something like this—legal help, media contacts, etc.—please reach out or comment below.
Thank you for reading, and stay safe.
