Kia start stop engine

I just had a weird thing happen, I was driving and I stopped at a red light and I had my engine stop and not come back on when I pressed on the gas. My car just died. I was not able to restart for several minutes it kept saying to start it manually?Has anyone else had this happen if so how do you start it manually?

Welcome, no I've never had that problem, for one thing I don't use that feature. I know to start the car if it dies, car must be in park not neutral.

Check the battery connections. If that’s fine, they’re might be a problem with the programming of the auto stop/start.
I’ve never had that happen either.

Definitely a safety issue. Could be an electrical / programming issue. Id recommend contacting your local Kia dealer.
