    Forward Parking assist fails.

My parking assist alerts stopped working. The failure mode is no front parking assist warnings moving forward after driving vehicle. If I put the vehicle in reverse and then drive, the forward parking assist starts to work again for a short time. then stops working again. I have tested this...

Windshield cracked - easy fix or major repair?

FUP 2 - OEM windshield replacement has restored the HUD to full clarity. Lesson learned, do not accept after market windshields even thought they are for HUD equipped vehicles.

Windshield cracked - easy fix or major repair?

FUP Safelight warranty visit. Tech agreed the after market HUD windshield was garbage. Geico agreed to replace with Kia OEM glass. Appointment next Wed. Hopefully this fixes it.

Windshield cracked - easy fix or major repair?

FUP. Checking the paperwork they put in an aftermarket windscreen supposedly for the HUD, It shows the markings designating that, but it really does not perform like the OEM. I called the Dealer service mgr and he said that happens quite often and I am probably stuck with what I have. I may...

Windshield cracked - easy fix or major repair?

I just had my 2018 GT2 windshield replaced by Safelight (rock chip and subsequent loooong crack) Safelight said they could do both windshield and recalibration. Well, after 6 tried from a remote contractor, they said they could not connect they could not say whether it was a remote connection...

    Oil Leak at 4500 miles

Update: The overfilled oil is due to gas being forced into the crankcase by a defective high pressure fuel pump. I guess my intuition that something was getting into the oil was correct, it just wasn't coolant. Dealer is replacing the high pressure fuel pump and they are replacing some o-rings...

    Oil Leak at 4500 miles

I did drain about a quart from the bottom of the sump and it looks like it's just oil, no coolant or other fluid. The dipstick still shows waaay overfilled. I'll need to take that up with service when I see them because they are the only ones to service the vehicle. I haven't started to look...

    Oil Leak at 4500 miles

Update on this issue; That was in early 2019. I have been since been back to the dealer for the second oil change and they said nothing so i figured I was all good. Now at 15k miles I dropped the under body panel to do my own oil change and what do I see? Oil on the lower pan and the area above...

    Kia 8 Stinger Store

I bought an ADD catch can from them and had nothing but positive responses from them and the manufacturer. Fast shipping and what I considered to be a fair competitive price. I'll be buying from them again. Maybe rather than engaging them regarding their price, simply buy the item from Ebay...

    Oil Leak at 4500 miles

Follow up. Did the coast to coast trip with an Enduro style run from Key West to Las Vegas on the return. Mostly hi speed highway miles. Tested all the tech in the car and it all seemed to run well. It's a great car for an extended trip. Returned to dealer for scheduled oil change and the...

    Chassis Subframe Collar Kit

Has anyone used this kit? ATQ subframe collars Not trying to shill for K8 but the video on their site did show some potential slop in the subframe components that these things would reduce or eliminate. If the stock components remained tight They really shouldn't move around unless you shacked...

    Kia Stinger Limited Slip Differential

Which seems really counter intuitive given some of the reasons for having AWD.,,,at least on the rear axle.

Which radar detector brand do you use on the Stinger?

Uniden R3 + Waze. Just did a cross country trip and both platforms served me well.

    Things they don't tell you.

I agree that the interactive electronics in the Stinger leave a lot to be desired. I suppose I don't have a problem plugging the phone in to use Google Maps and Waze for nav as they actively use the phone for that all the time. UVO is a complete pile of crap. I am not even sure what their...

What oil type is going in your Kia Stinger? Synthetic, Synthetic Blend or Regular Oil?

I asked my dealer's service manager last week and he said Total Quartz. I assume it's the 5w40. He did give me the "It's a special oil designed specifically for that engine". Oakey Dokey. But it does look like a quality product. I do all my own maintenance on my Mercedes and Tacoma and...

I saw this thread and went and tooted mine. I thought it sounded normal enough too.. I mean the car is a sport sedan, I don't want it sounding like a Freightliner.

    Center rearview mirror wobble

Got it! I was looking in the wrong place for the screw. It was partially hidden under the BIG cover for the sensors forward of the post. Once I located it, it was cake to tighten. It was not very loose either. If it loosens again It might need a bit of thread lock. Thanks guys.

    Center rearview mirror wobble

I got the external cover off and the shroud for the connector(you're right they just pop off) but the connector seems to be blocking access to any mounting hardware. Mine is the GT2 with the Homelink mirror and compass and the sensor array for all the lane assist and rain sensors. I don't know...

    Center rearview mirror wobble

You may be right as it is the post that is loose where it attaches in the sensor pod. I just need to figure out how to get the plastic cover off the pod that covers the screw
