Thanks everyone for the input. I ended up getting the GOOLOO, it works perfect on my wife's SUV. I might have to pickup this one for my Stinger, these are quite handy to have in the car in case of emergency.

Can you charge more than one phone at a time?

Former Optima owner here too, had a 2013 SX

Sounds like it could be a faulty brake switch. I remember on my Optima, I can always override that by turning the ignition to the on position (green light) then hold down the push button again for about 10-15 seconds.
