CAUTION! Backup Sensors Don't See Posts

Hi All. My perfect Stinger is no longer perfect. Probably $800 damage to reset/relocate the rear bumper. OUCH! Anyway, the rear sensor warning went off at the same time I backed into a post. It occurs to me that a round post, or a square one with a corner facing the car is actually stealth...

Is it me or the Harman Kardon subwoofers are WEAK? (GT2)

I feel base from the front door speakers and nowhere else. That doesn't seem right. The dealer shay they are all that way. I'm thinking I'll spend $100 and get a car stereo outfit to measure the signal to the subs. They should be pumping bass!! Has anybody else done any testing or technical...

Is it me or the Harman Kardon subwoofers are WEAK? (GT2)

You hear speakers and feel subwoofers And I don't feel anything coming out of the subwoofer grills under the seats. WTF? The system sounds great, but it's all coming out of the front doors. I'm not unhappy. But I 'feel' I've paid for something that's delivering short on my expectation.

Owners on lowered Stingers, how is your tire wear?

FYI K8AR, I have to get new rear tires for my Stinger at 13000 miles. I admit I drove on lowered springs without the revised alignment for about 4000 of those miles. I have to admit I drifted the car once and have used the launch mode more than a few times. Any way you slice it those tires...

    Shifting into Manual Mode

My car has 18000km on it now. That's 12000 miles. Okay, KIA, if you're listening, here's an earful re the transmission and the driving modes to improve ASAP;. 1 - Mode should not revert to comfort every time the car starts. Leave it in the mode it was in when the car was turned off. 2 - If...

Love my Stinger GT2 but have concerns about the car when on twisty back mountin roads

That's a nice red thefultonhow. I ordered a red Stinger but when the watered down burgundy showed up I swapped it for a white showroom car. Yo mldavis2, Fittipaldi is on a TV commercial. TV is not real. The suspension is too soft and for those of you who don;t recognize that shortcoming, it...

Love my Stinger GT2 but have concerns about the car when on twisty back mountin roads

My call out stands: 5. Its "chassis and suspension provide suitable handling and roadholding on all routes" during travels. I love the car, but both the chassis and suspension need work. My doors and sunroof are jiggling every time I pull in the driveway (chassis) and the ass end of the car...

Love my Stinger GT2 but have concerns about the car when on twisty back mountin roads

Time for a Call Out. Enough of these 'GT' excuses. A GT is supposed to be performance with comfort. The GT's suspension delivers performance at 140km/hr plus. So the suspension is adapting to speed. I just want it to adapt appropriately at 100 km/hr and 80 km/hr. Stop making excuses for a...

Owners on lowered Stingers, how is your tire wear?

My tire wear is as expected. AKA normal.

What's your Kia Stinger suspension plan?

The settings are uploaded to the machine from the machine manufacturer. I got them on the alignment sheet from the dealer but i didn't note them.

What's your Kia Stinger suspension plan?

Settings came in. Alignment done. Rear end twitchiness is gone. Yeah! Sway bars are not needed. Save your money. The car corners flat.

    Kia Stinger Eibach Lowering Springs

Hi All. I mentioned the rear end is twitchy and the car goes off line in certain conditions. Others expressed the same problem. Well the alignment specs are in and the four wheel alignment fixed the problem. That problem was there from day 1. With stock springs and after changing them out to...

Owners on lowered Stingers, how is your tire wear?

I had the Eibach ProKit installed in January. 6000 miles since then. No noticeable unevenness in the tire wear. That photo is of a tire on a car that was slammed, like maybe lowered by 3" or more. Or maybe it's running on airbags. If you mod a car you can mess with it some but you mess with...

    Brembo Brakes Feel Rough

The dealer installed new rotors. Problem solved so far. I haven't tested them yet but that will happen and if they are a problem again I'll advise.

    Chassis Flexing

ihatecats78, I agree now that I see the braces. They are for stiffening in a horizontal plane. I need a removable bulkhead behind the rear seat to create box section in the vertical plane. What I see at Ultra Racing does not have a vertical box or beam section to speak of. Only the tube...

    Chassis Flexing

I can't link to the website with the braces. But that's the ticket. Please double check the link as i'd like to look into those braces.

    Chassis Flexing

Hi All. When I pull in driveways and the chassis gets torqued (one corner wheel goes up for example) I hear the door and the sunroof 'move'. Not really a creak or rattle or squeak. More just relative motion between the door and the weatherstripping and the roof glass and the weatherstripping...

    Adaptive Suspension System

I am only familiar with adaptive shocks that adjust in the recoil direction. Unless it the voltaoreactive fluid shocks like in the Corvette. Recoil (while extending) adjustment only is extremely effective for cars on the road. Off road you benefit greatly from compression adjustment as well...

Love my Stinger GT2 but have concerns about the car when on twisty back mountin roads

Best ride handling compromise is soft springs stiff dampers. That's why adaptable dampers CAN work so well. I'm waiting for a software patch from KIA. They'll have to hear the feedback that is pretty resoundingly "TOO SOFT".

    Adaptive Suspension System

I'm waiting for a software fix. That's step 1. If none becomes available I'll think about changing the shocks. But adaptive shocks usually vary the duty cycle of the valving that is either super soft or super stiff. stiff would be modulated at a frequency of say 50 hz with a duty cycle of...
