Side view mirror assembly removal

Hey guys - tried posting within a few threads but no response. Wondering if may be this helps get some attention as a new thread. I’m looking to remove the side mirror assembly...not the glass, not the cap...the whole thing. Do I go in from the outside or through the door panel? Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks

Right where the mirror is connected on the inside of the door there's a black panel, pop that panel off an there's a couple of nuts holding the mirror on plus the wiring plug. Here's a picture of what I'm talking about, both sides...

No dice. Thanks for the reply but that is a solid piece/part of the window surround

Looks like there might be a top cover on the mirror mount (outside) or its through the door panel. Guess I’ll pull the panel tomorrow and post an update

My bad, I do believe your right. You need to pull the door panel but it comes off pretty easy... For some reason I was thinking of my Nissan mirror mount..

Ok everyone - not through the door panel. Actually even more simple...there is a cap on the bottom of the mirror arm where it meets the body. Use a plastic pry tool and it pops down/off. Inside there are the two main bolts. Towards the front of the car there is a little alignment peg BUT in the middle of the two bolts there is a metal alignment rod/peg. The trick here is that there is a plastic cap with two wings that lock it in. Seems to act as a fail safe so the mirror doesn’t fall out? I was able to reach in with needle nose pliers and peel back (break off...) the wings. Then it’s a jiggle and a lift and it slides right out. One simple connection to unplug and you’re good to go.
Let me know if anyone has any questions
