The Kia Stinger GT420 is the effort from the brand's British division to create a one-off, more powerful, track-only version of the performance sedan. Power grows to 422 horsepower (315 kilowatts) and 413 pound-feet (560 Newton-meters) of torque from the stock 365 hp (272 kW) and 376 lb-ft (510 Nm).
The team at the Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Centre in Rüsselsheim, Germany, contributed the expertise to improve the engine's output. The tweaks include different spark plugs, a K&N air filter, and Milltek Sport quad-exit exhaust with no catalytic converters. A larger automatic transmission cooler makes sure the gearbox can withstand extended track work.
For better handling on the track, Kia increased the camber angle and fitted a set of 19-inch diameter with Pirelli Trofeo R tires. The standard dampers are still at the corners but with Eibach Pro lowering springs and thicker anti-roll bars. Six-piston Brembo brakes in front aid in slowing down, but the standard stoppers are at the back.
