    Are you rich

StingerGT68, and isn't that how powerful branding can be. And therein is the question's perspective and perception. There IS a reason companies spent up to $5.5 million for a Super Bowl ad - it works! Kia's was 60 seconds, so somewhere in that $10m+ range. Kia also has high-end malls with small...

    Are you rich

This seems an odd question. I mean, I thought people generally understood that a LOT of broke, massively in debt people drive fancy cars... I can drive through some pretty poor-ish hoods and there are BMW's and Mercedes in the driveways. Some in apartments also drive nice cars. It doesn't matter...

Who turns off the Auto Start/Stop feature when they first get in their Stinger?

This can't be updated with a software fix soon enough. I HATE every car that has the stop/engine-off feature. I was pleased that with the Stinger I could turn it off... But I did not know this needed to be done EVERY TIME?! What?! (I don't own it - yet). That's nuts. Come on Kia, get a software...

Kia Stinger Out The Door Price Thread

Indeed. I mean, we paid off the home loan for 30 years, refinanced to 15 and paid it off in 7 or 8. Overall, what started as a 30 still took about 12 years so... But my credit score is good, my wife's even better so we should be okay.

Kia Stinger Out The Door Price Thread

I also just reached out to a CU I worked with to purchase a 2006 Maxima (worst car I've ever owned), but the Credit Union was great. 2.69% best rate for a high credit score (which I have), but I've also held a loan with them before - paid it off early (hope they don't hold that AGAINST me!)...

Kia Stinger Out The Door Price Thread

Hello Matt, I'm a BIG as much cash, as little debt as possible (in all life purchase areas). Thus, I am still saving, and will pay all 35 months in cash. So that is all out of the way. I will then have sold my Mazda 6, which will fetch me about $12k. Thus, I'll use that to pay roughly half of...

Kia Stinger Out The Door Price Thread

It really helped. Thank you! And I had not thought about an amortization schedule, just how to calculate the "average monthly interest." This is just like a mortgage. Just as a mortgage, they want you to re-finanice every 5 years or so (so you never pay down the principal, just pay them interest...

Kia Stinger Out The Door Price Thread

Matt, Good points. Some dealers I've talked with said it can be done in a single day, so evidently the Money programs in getting interest and such going is pretty quick! Funny how that works!!! Even if a day or two, not a HUGE issue at all. I can handle $25 - $35 in interest rolled up. NOTE...

Kia Stinger Out The Door Price Thread

Hello Berzerker, You are flushing out yet another aspect I was NOT aware of. Thus, do I take the Principal (AKA the Rental Fee, which is the Adjusted Capital Cost - Residual Value), which we can pretend after the first month payment is: $12,000... So, I take that Principal of $12k remaining, *...

Kia Stinger Out The Door Price Thread

If I can toss in a thought: IF you can actually afford to purchase the car ($16k or so with savings w/previous car trade-in or sale, etc...), then you can save yourself $4,587.45 - which is how you can truly leverage the Lease Cash against the vehicle cost, rather than give it back over 36...

Leasee's BE WARE - KMF CASH ON LEASES ARE NOT WHAT THEY APPEAR

It isn't worth the difference to me either, but this is all subjective personal choice, no right or wrong here. Just so those not yet in the know: The GT2 AWD vs the GT1 AWD also has: ? LSD (Limited Slip Differential) A big deal to some driving enthusiasts. ? High Beam Assist ? The entire...

Leasee's BE WARE - KMF CASH ON LEASES ARE NOT WHAT THEY APPEAR

I test drove a GT2 AWD, and the one thing I loved about it was the HUD. It's really well done. I had never thought about a windshield replacement, but yah, I can see how it could cost a lot more. Suddenly I don't need that feature so much anymore - but might be tempted to add HUD if it ever...

Leasee's BE WARE - KMF CASH ON LEASES ARE NOT WHAT THEY APPEAR

Congrats! Mine will also be a GT1. I'd like AWD, but I'm opting for the Drive Wise package. I can't justify both Drive Wise and AWD dollar-wise. This will be the most expensive car I've ever purchased as it is...

Leasee's BE WARE - KMF CASH ON LEASES ARE NOT WHAT THEY APPEAR

Okay, so I don't think you are building how they are getting to their costs quite right. Close, but not quite. You stated "If the depreciation is $18,000 and you applied a 5% APR to that, the Rental Charges should only be about $1,400." That is NOT how they get to how much interest you paying...

Leasee's BE WARE - KMF CASH ON LEASES ARE NOT WHAT THEY APPEAR

Exactly, what MurlinatoR said ; ) If you are getting into a lease, and do not know a lot about them, NEVER get into a lease. They are called a "Fleece" for a reason... However, with the GT, and Lease Cash of $4,800, I stand to save around $1500 vs a very aggressive purchase. Maybe a bit more...

Leasee's BE WARE - KMF CASH ON LEASES ARE NOT WHAT THEY APPEAR

@The Barron, the sounds about right. Basically, a lease shifts how the money is made the Kia. Instead of in a sale, it's paid to the financing company over 3 years, but it's often more or a wash (right around MSRP). That said, MurlinatoR has explained that if you do a same day lease-buy move...

2018 Audi A5 Sportback vs. 2018 BMW 430i xDrive Gran Coupe, 2018 Kia Stinger AWD - Comparison Tests

@ MurlinatoR, well nice to know the Steel/Mining company that uses cars to move their product has their own financial company ; ) They can play by their own rules if they so choose. Most of the Feds rate changes are long-term rates, but the short-term market likes to follow along none-the-less...

2018 Audi A5 Sportback vs. 2018 BMW 430i xDrive Gran Coupe, 2018 Kia Stinger AWD - Comparison Tests

MurlinatoRR, who is the bank I'll see on statements, that is actually behind Kia Financial Services? Citi, Bank of America, etc...?

2018 Audi A5 Sportback vs. 2018 BMW 430i xDrive Gran Coupe, 2018 Kia Stinger AWD - Comparison Tests

MurlinatoR ? I had NEVER thought about a lease in these terms! Just like my Mortage payoff, or 60 month car loans I have paid off in 2 years, indeed, banks cannot charge interest if paying extra on the Principal. I'm going to need to rebuild my spreadsheet formula! This should be SOOOO helpful...

Kia Stinger Out The Door Price Thread

Let Costco know this dealer should be removed from their Dealer Participants, and post that dealers name on this blog, your FaceBook page, Twitter, etc... Exposing bad deeds and who is doing them is the only way to punish them with reduced business. Unethical folks usually understand money, and...
