What's the weight difference between stock and the new system?

Ok so we put the stinger back on dyno this morning with our centre cat back system. It made around 7rwkw more as the lowest figure. One run saw 247rwkw. Will post dyno sheet bit later. These cars are a pain to run up due to the control freak auto trans

Kindest regards Jon

If both the traction & disability controls are off and in sport mode you should be able to select any gear you want and redline it until fuel cut-off.

Nope not at all hey. Spoke with another dyno shop here who had same issue. Cant fully floor it either or it kicks back. Will change to next gear at 6200rpm no matter what we did. In sport with traction and dsc off aswell :/

I guess its a regional thing then. With my car it will hit redline and fall on its face.

Hey everyone, sorry for the lack of updates. Been flat out with work. Anyway we spent the day desiging and building our Stinger cai. Really happy with how it has come out.

The factory ducting isnt the best as the intake sits under the big black plastic garnish over rad support with only about 1/4" of clearance to breath through. We removed the factory ductinf and built our own to sit behind the grille and feed lots of cold air to the filters. We have chosen to run a 4" inlet filter leading to 3" pipework to the turbos.

The Stinger feels much stronger and more responsive with a nice whistle from the twin snails. Hoping to get it onto the dyno in the next day or so.

Will keep you all updated. Here are some pics :)

Kindest regards Jon

Boy those intake tubes are so darn beautiful. I take it the front bumper needs to be removed to install them. Was the bumper removal process fairly easy?

Cheers:) The bumper only needs removal if you wish to add the ductwork we have (highly reccomended) It is one of the most simple bumper removals. Very very easy :)

Any plans to go with a sealed box design that uses carbon fiber instead of a metal heat shield? Something like this.

Love the look and design. Are those cone filters made by K&N?

Impressive work Jonnytig and the polished metal makes it look 1000x better. Quick question though, should we be concern of any heat soak issues with the metal tubing?

Cheers it came up nice hey. Reason we went with aluminium and polished is for 2 reasons. Polished surfaces reflect thermal energy and 2 aluminum is an excellent thermal conductor...... so why use it for intakes you ask? Well we have found that once air is moving through the pipework it sheds its stored thermal energy much faster than say mild steel. Going for a quick drive around around 40mph the piping is cool to the touch. So the cold air ducts are working quite well. Plus it looks porn ;)
