The factory 19s ridiculously heavy at 34 lbs. I think that Kia may have done this to dampen the sudden onset of high torque at low rpm (for those that know, like a Mitsubishi Evo does), so the power feels more linear.

Those who have gone lighter, does it change the power delivery? Does the suspension react faster?

Change in a good or bad way? On my Z I currently have Enkei RPF1s and they each weigh like 18lbs. Is there any reason to believe they won't hold up to the torque of this car?
