Has anyone tried and/or figured out how to remove the tray with sliding door that houses the 12V (cigarette lighter) plug and the USB inputs? See attached photo. I?d like to run iPhone & Android cables under the console and into the armrest storage to keep my phone(s) in there.

I?m thinking of actually removing the 12 V outlet and running my cables through the hole that will remain.

Any input is much appreciated.

Hey everyone... I?m 1/2 way through ?Phase Two? of the console swap. Now I?m focused on iPhone/Android cables.

Will post the final product when I?m done. But the future looks bright....

mjsteelega were you able to find something that fits in place of the 12v socket?

Well, here?s the final product to which I am very pleased to say... is fantastic! (If I do say so myself).

Since I carry both an iPhone and Android phone, I now have both cables, can use them interchangeably, and can store both of them INSIDE the 12V adapter housing when not in use!

That's definitely way cleaner than having wires all over the console.
