I?m making my way through the downloaded manual (many thanks for the link).

I was wondering, if the battery on the Smart Key runs out, I can use the mechanical key to open the door.
Obviously the remote functions of the Smart Key would not work.
But would the engine start?
(i.e. does the immobiliser function rely on battery power?)

How about if the Smart Key gets wet?

When the battery dies you can push the start button with the FOB and still be able to start the car. There's a chip inside the remote that will allow you to start it even if the batter is dead.

dvinell if your smart key gets wet take the battery out and let it completely dry before you use it again.
