Seen several threads asking about this and not to many clear answers besides the TSB and people using tape. Remove the two upper rubber pieces and install a 5/16 zinc plated washer to each hole on the back side of the mount. Noise will no longer exist.

It works! I went to Home Depot and bought washers installed them. Then I drove my usual spot with pot hole patches and bumps. Not one rattle. Thank you

A couple of notes from my experience
1) Only the 5/16 washer worked. I bought the 1/4 but the bolt goes not go through the hole. The 5/16 washer was the exact size as the ring on the bumper thing.
2) Other observation is the the bumper guard no longer sits flush onto the trunk lid (see pic). I have some foam padding at will trim it to the size of the bumper guard and put that in between. I may try to use the foam without the washer, as I'm guessing that the bumper guard is what is rattling against the trunk. I'll keep you all updated.

Yea I was thinking about just putting some all weather padding there instead. I would hate for it to rust there or break. It didn’t feel like the trunk was any more snug. I suggest 1/8 in thick foam. I’ll try it this week and post if it works.
