About $3 to 4k more than I was hoping across the board. But still good bang for the buck I suppose. Hopefully dealerships don't jack up the price more. If they do then I'll just wait for prices to come back down.

Price is still very reasonable, even better once Kia starts offering incentives.

And for both the 2.0T and 3.3TT, premium fuel is recommended, not required:)

Turbo 4 starts at $32,795

The 3.3-liter twin-turbo 365-horsepower V6 model will cost you $39,895

GT1 trim, which starts at $44,395

The top-tier GT2 starts at $50,395

I'm not sure I like the fact that an AWD 2.0T will start at $35K. Ugh... and $42K for a V6 AWD.... Double Ugh. It better be as good as we all think it is or Chevy SS it will be!

Now that I've had a chance to really look over the features and options, all I can say is, I hope the charts are just preliminary because some of it makes no sense: why is limited slip only available on the GT2? What happened to heated rear seats and wireless charging, for ANY model? Head Up Display, vented seats, the cool shifter only on the top model, not even an option on others?

The salesman I'm working with is pretty knowledgeable and he says it's looking as if some of the best colors won't be available for the US, unless something changes by launch. He says there may not be a yellow, panthera metal, or deep chroma blue.

Not ready to give up and move on just yet, but I'm starting to lose a little bit of interest...

The demo unit I just saw, granted not a GT, was Deep Chroma Blue and had the HUD and Brembo brakes all around, I can only assume it is the premium with an option based upon the KiaMedia documents. Or a true demo car just to show off the "exterior" facing features.
Link to post with some of the pictures I took this afternoon.

From what I have seen in my research the Korean models launched with 3 or 4 colors. I have seen Red, Black, and Chorma Blue for certain. I recall seeing the Panthera Metal but that as one of the Korean videos was driving through a distribution center lot for a brief moment.

I am with you, what happen to all the safety features that were to come standard as well. I was looking to save some money and maybe get a GT1 as I hoped the GT2 was the Sunroof and Dual Color interior being the only difference. I guess it is a GT2 for me, no AWD. I have to see if I can do an option delete on the Sunroof/Moonroof which is standard on the Premium, GT1 and GT2. Then I will have to get a paint job for the mirrors as the Black Chrome just does not do it for me.

Also after having sat in one as I am a typical middle aged American, Tall and rounder than I need to be, it was hard to see more than 2 or 3 full size adults fitting in the car, myself included. The back seat leg room was non-existent and the head room, with the seat lowered as far as I could get it, was a close shave, maybe 1 inch to 3/4 of an inch.

Edit - Also I was leaning towards the Panthera Metal as my first color choice, but after seeing the Chroma Blue it is now the first choice unless the Metal is just a WOW moment.

Like you I will still consider the car, but I will also be looking at other vehicles in more detail.

Well, unless Kia offers an option package for the middle model when the car is introduced, it looks like I'd be forced to go with the GT2, to get everything I want. They REALLY need to do an option package that bundles stuff like vented seats, HUD and power trunk for the GT1.

Yeah, that unit you saw was a Korean model that won't even exist here, it appears. WHY they would show off a turbo 4, with features we won't get, in a color we (possibly) won't get, is beyond me. I read somewhere that all these demos have to be sent back to korea, or destroyed, per the EPA.

I keep coming back to that part of their press release saying that things were still subject to change by December. I'm hoping they listen to the gripes of those of us who have been waiting specifically for this car, and make some tweaks to the packaging and the price. *Fingers crossed*

Right now I am with TurboTx, I will have to go with the GT2 and hope I can delete the sunroof. If not I am curious as to why I should wait for the stinger and not just go get a G80 Sport 3.3T which comes with pretty much everything the GT2 does. I want the safety features, the limited slip diff, vented seats, and power trunk lid. The HUD while nice to have I can live without. The shift by wire I am a little weary of as I am not sure how mature that technology is. The other nice to have is the LED lights, the fun we will be able to have with those in the future. :)

I would really like to be able to get painted mirrors but I guess that will be after the fact.

The G80 is more of a sporty luxury car, the Stinger is more track-oriented. What's holding you back from the G80?

Price at the moment. I am hoping that that will be a little more bang for the buck with the Stinger. I would really like to see what the option costs are on the Stinger and what I can break out at the different trim levels. With the G80 Sport you get what it comes with and that is basically a GT2 option setup.

Since this will most likely be the last vehicle for at least 10 years I am researching every little detail.

I'm seeing brand new G80 sports marked down as low as $47k on autotrader. For buyers willing to give up a little sport for luxury and pampering, that makes the G80 a better buy.

TurboTX,
I have seen some of those adds, but around here there are not that many Sports to start with and dealers list those Autotrader prices applying all discounts and incentives possible. For example, UBER, Driver, Military, College student, Hurricane discount, finance discount, and so on and so on. I have called on a few SOULs that my son saw on Autotrader.

For example I just check Autotrader here and the lowest price listed fora 2018 3.3T sport on the G80 is $52K and that car has been on the dealers lot since May. They may want to turn off the date on the camera. :) But there is one with a nice Matte Brown paint job..... Mr Hankeymobile...
