LOL...how many salesman does it take to jump start a Kia Stinger? Most cars with a rear battery will have a terminal up front to easily jumpstart the battery.

The manual trunk release tip was a good one though.

The Stinger has terminals under the hood to jump the vehicle if needed.

That's what I was thinking. Are the terminals where that "red plus" was shown under the hood on the passenger side firewall? One person in the video said that could be used to get power to the car but you couldn't jumpstart it from there.....

I'd think the owner's manual has something about the procedure?

"Are you a technician?" Doesn't even know the people he works with...

Just read the manual and can confirm that the terminal on the passenger firewall is for jumping the car.

I lifted that cover briefly. It's scary looking in there for a non-electrician like me. That'd be one nerve-fragging jump start...

I hate electronic rear hatches...LOL

My wife's Magnum RT battery is located in the rear like the Stinger. When the battery died I used a jump box connecting the power terminals under the hood to open the rear tailgate. Unlike the Stinger the Magnum doesn't have a emergency release.

One great thing about having the battery in the rear is that its makes it so much easier to add an amp and subwoofers.

Even better for weight distribution and longer life by not being subjected to high under the hood temperatures.

Wonder if the battery is a AGM?

Here's your answer.

YES! It is an AGM battery!

So, standard lead acid batteries are non-AGM. AGM means absorbed glass mat. The material inside is different than the old fashioned type. The new AGM batteries are lighter, hold a charge better and longer, have more charge cycles, and give their power faster than traditional lead acid. They are more dough, though. LOL

And after 275 miles, my battery was dead this morning :( RAC came within 30 minutes and measured a CCA capacity of 83. Jump started the car and got me to the dealers. The ASS wasn't working yesterday which apparently was a warning sign. Of course as I was driving to the dealers, ASS decided it would start again and killed the car at a junction. Fortunately the RAC van was following me so he jump started me again.
