What I Drive
2016 Chevrolet SS

Greetings all, this is my first post here. I've been looking at videos and researching the Kia Stinger lately and am mightily impressed by this car. I currently drive a 2016 Chevrolet SS with a manual transmission, which I love, but have been toying with the idea of trading it in for an AWD Stinger. The SS is not my daily driver, so the Stinger would assume daily driving duties as well as fun to drive week end car, which is why I'm looking at the AWD model. I just have a few questions that I haven't been able to find through google searches.

1. What is the stock boost pressure on the Kia Stinger GT?

2. Anybody tune these cars yet or modify them? If so, how do they respond to mods/tuning? A 400-450 AWHP Stinger would be pretty damn cool.

3. How much more powertrain loss is there with the AWD model and the RWD model? The few dynographs I found didn't really show any difference in the power they put down, which I found hard to believe.

I'll be continuing to research this car in the mean time. My daily is a lease that is up in September so who knows, maybe I'll be able to swing the Chevy SS and the Stinger for a while.

9PSI

I would hold off on the piggyback tunes for now, lots of problems.

Not sure on this one.

Cool, thanks for the info and the link. Usually there are problems when everything is new, a lot has to be sorted out and learned. As for piggyback tunes, I've never used one. All of my cars have been custom tuned on a dyno. I did experiment with a hand held canned tune once on my 2014 Shelby GT500, but ended up with a custom dyno tune within weeks of getting it. Hopefully everything gets sorted out soon. Can't wait to see what this underdog is capable of.

I really wish more mainstream tuners like Cobb or SCT would invest some time in trying to crack the ECU.
